CREATIVE DREAMS GETAWAYS

The Beginning of the Story:

The start of the journey began in 2010 when I attended a Creative Memories retreat and discovered my love for scrapbooking. Over a number of retreats, I discovered there was a lack of suitable retreats for small groups of 8 - 10. Whilst at our annual retreat, around the dinner table, the dream of creating this venue was born.

What if there was a purpose built home with a craft studio attached in a beautiful quiet setting? A place where bedding is supplied, great lighting, great space and some equipment provided so you have to bring less? This place would have to be special!

 

In 2017 on a visit to Maldon, Victoria I knew immediately that this was the place. A beautiful historic little town with Mt Tarrengower close by for a gorgeous view, not too far from Melbourne, Echuca and Bendigo and perfect for a weekend getaway.

 

In 2020, the retreat was completed and was ready to open the doors only to have Covid shut down the world - What a great adventure it was to get to this stage. With the help from friends the aim was to build and provide the best small retreat accommodation, which encompassed all the things that I loved at the many retreats over the years. I believe that this has been accomplished and I am so proud of what we affectionally call

‘The house that love built’!

 

In 2024 as the retreat enters its 4th year of operation, Creative Dreams Getaways has grown into a loved venue with many return visitors and high recommendations. As we move forward, Karen Carden will be assisting me to keep track of bookings and confirmations. She has been one of the team behind the scenes that have assisted in creating what you all love at Creative Dreams Getaways. We continue to make changes and update the venue and thank guests for their continued feedback along the way.
